Brackett Green secured an order for fourteen CF200™ Band Screens from Northern Ireland's Water Service.
The screens were designed and manufactured at the company's Colchester factory in England and installed across five Greater Belfast Waste Water Treatment Works.
The sites at Newtownbreda, New Holland, Dunmurry, Upper Falls and Whitehouse formed part of an extensive refurbishment program driven by Water Service to improve water supply and waste treatment services.
Newtownbreda, New Holland and Upper Falls were each fitted with two Brackett Green CF200™ Band Screens, while Dunmurry, located adjacent to the River Lagan in a largely residential area, received three screens.
Whitehouse, which serves the second largest population of the five sites, was fitted with four CF200™ Band Screens, each capable of handling a maximum flow of 1000 litres per second.
The CF200™ Band Screen design has established itself as a preferred screening medium with water authorities worldwide since its launch in 1991.
The screen features a patented moulded polyurethane mesh panel with tapered holes, providing an effective solution to both blocked screen panels and carried-over debris.
Its heavy screen panel and roller chain construction contribute to low life cycle costs.
Operation is based on differential head loss control, and the screens typically run for as little as three hours per day, increasing to six to eight hours during high flows.
