CF200 & CF100 Band Screens Technology Overview

Brackett Green® CF200® and CF100® band screens – a new technology to replace all other types of fine screens

Background

Tasman Water manufactures and supplies Brackett Green® screens across Australia and New Zealand. Being the world’s most experienced screen technology and and installed over 15000 screens in the last 70 years, these include cup, drum and dual flow screens for seawater and cooling water intakes, and fine screens for sewage treatment.

Developed in the early 1990’s, the CF200® Band Screen has proven to be the most effective technology for solids removal at the head of a municipal sewage treatment plant.

Widely adopted in the United Kingdom, the CF200® and CF100® Band Screen is now the preferred choice for many water authorities in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, USA, South America and Africa.

Performance

The CF200® was tested at the UK National Screen Test Facility and was shown to have the highest screening capture ratio of all screens tested (eg 93% SCR for 3mm perforation).

The tests clearly showed that perforations with 2 dimensional screening offer up to three times the screenings capture of bar, step and rotary type screens.

The advanced thick plate technology, patented worldwide, demonstrated reliable operation without any hair pining issues or hang up as experienced with other screen types.

The Brackett Green® design does not require complicated mechanical brushes to maintain a clear panel – wash water at garden hose pressure meets this duty.

With a variety of sizes and configurations, the CF100 and CF200 Band Screen can be installed into any treatment plant, from 10 L/s through to 6000 L/s in a single screen.

Screening apertures offered are 2,3,5 and 6mm. The 2mm version has become the favoured technology to protect MBR systems by many designers.
