Traditionally the Brackett Green® Band Screen range was designed to suit large sewage plants with flows in excess of 1000L/s.
With the introduction of the CF100® range over nine years ago, the benefits of band screen technology has been made available to smaller treatment plants that traditionally install step type and in-channel spiral screens.
Tasman Water manufactured and installed CF100® Brackett Green® units to treat flows as low as 15L/s using a smaller version of the patented thick plate panels used in the large models.
The Mt Martha STP was upgraded in 2005 to provide further capacity for this growing region of Melbourne’s south east.
Brackett Green® CF100/300/600 screens were installed to process a maximum flow rate of 200L/s per screen.
In average conditions during winter, the flow rate can be as low as 35L/s per screen.
The pitch on the CF100/300 is 200mm and the patented thick plate panels are also utilized for this product range.
With a number of configurations available, the CF100 can be easily retrofitted to any municipal inlet works.
The installation demonstrated to many Australian water authorities that Band Screen technology could be offered for smaller treatment plants whilst maintaining all the benefits of the larger product range but with a comparable capital cost to traditional fine screens such as step type and spiral screens.
