AHM are one of Australia’s largest meat companies with several processing plants located all over the country.
The Rockhampton operation includes an advanced wastewater treatment plant for processing of the wastewater prior to discharge.
The primary effluent is treated in an AJM EnviroDAF™ for fat and grease removal, prior to further processing downstream. The EnviroDAF™ is operated without chemical addition.
AJM have made significant advances in the design of flotation systems for industrial wastewater treatment. This includes the use of a true dissolved air system of a non clogging design and counter-current flow arrangement.
For this application the EnviroDAF™ has been installed to remove fats, oil and grease prior to biological treatment.
The process is chemical free and the removal of FOG allows for more stable operation of the biological process.
The system has been operational for several years with consistent performance and reliability.
